Caption: A rare Ivory Gull has been spotted in Southern Cape May County, causing a buzz around the birding community. The ivory gull is an arctic gull that spends most of it's life on pack ice scavenging for food near polar bears, according to Mike Crewe of the Cape May Bird Observatory. This is the first recorded instance of an ivory gull in Cape May County according to Crewe. The gull has been frequenting an area of Cape May Harbor at the Bree-Zee-Lee Yacht Basin on Ocean Drive.
